About the Games

The Canada Games is a multi-sport and cultural event that brings together the best athletes and artists in a specified age group from each Canadian province and territory. The Games provide the stimulus for Canadian youth to reach their athletic potential, pursue personal excellence and develop socially and culturally within the context of ethical competition.

 

 

2009 Canada Summer Games (CSG) - August 15 - 29, Prince Edward Island. Rowing will be the first week of the game from August 15-21. The rowing venue is on the Southwest River, about 30 minutes from the Athletes Village in Summerside PEI.

 

Eligibility

All athletes born in 1989 or later can participate in Canada Summer Games.

Team Size

Rowing BC will be spending 30 athletes to Canada Summer Games. A full team will consist of 14 men, 14 women and 2 coxswains. The following is a breakdown of these positions:

Canada Summer Games*Although there are a limited number of lightweight positions, once the LWT seats are filled athletes will be considered for open positions and assessed accordingly.

* * Coxswains can be both male, both female or one male and one female
