Rowing BC Master's Committee Wows the Masters Rowing Community with a 'Gem' of a Regatta

The inaugural Cascadia Masters Regatta was held on the Deas Slough on August 14 and 15. This regatta was planned and developed by the Rowing BC masters committee and was a collaborative effort of five lower mainland rowing clubs. It was a resounding success with amazing weather and great rowing conditions. Over 170 rowers from 19 clubs from BC, Washington and Oregon participated and everyone agreed that it was a great addition to the summer sprint racing schedule. Among the highlights were yoga under the trees, an on-site massage therapist and beautiful jade medals for first place finishers. A big thank you to all the rowers who supported this regatta and congratulations to Vancouver Rowing Club for winning the aggregate team points trophy.
Full results are posted on Regatta Central and Row2k. Please keep your calendars clear for next year's event to be held on July 23 and 24, 2011.
