The 2012 BC Summer Games will be held from July 19 to 22, 2012, in Surrey, BC. Rowing will once again be part of the Games, with the rowing competition to be held at the Delta Deas Rowing Club. In preparation for the Games, Rowing BC is seeking Zone Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches for Zone teams for the Games.
There are a total of fourteen coach positions available. All coaches must be available to attend the Games for the complete Games period.
Head Coaches must be fully certified RCA Coach Trained (including Weekend 2), or NCCP Level 2 in the old program. Assistant Coaches must have completed RCA Coach Weekend 1, or NCCP Level 1 certified in the old program. As coaches are required to supervise athletes in their accommodation, between the two Zone coaches, there must be one male and one female coach. Full details of the roles and responsibilities for the coaches are in the attached job description.
Zone Teams will be made up of male and female rowers who are under 17 years of age on December 31, 2012. Under Rowing Canada’s Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD), this group falls under the Training to Train category. The competition will include a skills event, time trial, and match racing in M2x, W2x, and MI4x+.
