Clubs are the central hub for any rowing community. The vitality of the club is reflected in a number of areas like recruitment and retention of members, delivery of programs, daily administration and equipment maintenance.

Regatta Sanctioning

All regattas hosted in BC must be sanctioned by Rowing BC. This is a requirement of membership and is done to ensure appropriate standards, including safety and officiating.

Club Development Manual

Starting a new club doesn't have to be overwhelming. The club development manual is a valuable tool to get you started. It covers a number of areas including:

  • Creating a constitution
  • Programs that fit many members
  • Finding and developing coaching

Rowing BC is in the process of developing a manual for BC clubs. Until then Rowing Ontario has an excellent online manual.

Human Resources

HR Toolkit Cover2010 Legacies Now has developed the Human Resources Guide for Community Sport: Managing Employees.  This handbook supports the professional development of local sport clubs and associations. It provides best practices, employment resources and numerous templates that may be used when required and adapted to your needs.

Grant, Financial and Fundraising Information

There are number of grants and funds available for Rowing BC member clubs.

Travel Discounts

Rowing BC members clubs are eligible for travel discounts at Sandman Hotels, Inns and Suites across Canada and Avis Rent-A-Car in Western Canada.

Classifieds

Selling or wanting to buy equipment? Looking to trade equipment with other clubs? Interested in coordinating regatta trailers? Rowing BC offers a free classified ad listing for members. Ads are dynamically updated and promoted throughout the website.

Equipment and Boat Repairs

The Equipment and Boat Repair page contains information on simple boat repairs and link to equipment providers.

Insurance

Insurance for the sport of rowing is not carried or offered by Rowing BC. Rowing Canada Aviron maintains a policy for its members. Learn more about Insurance.
